Gong Xi Fa Cai, Xin Nian Kuai Le!

Happy Chinese New Year to all of you! Here's wishing you and your family a year filled with good health and happiness.

This is my first Chinese New Year celebration in Malaysia. It is a real blessing to experience CNY here. I enjoy the big family reunions, meeting new relatives, as well as sampling the abundant good food. But there's one part of the tradition that is unique to the Chinese - 'chum cha' or tea ceremony. Young people, like myself, get to show respect to older people by offering a cup of tea. In return, we get a red envelope or 'ang pow'.

Yes, I have received lots of angpows, but the real reason behind the contented look on my face is my loving and caring family.
